Bailey, DOB 06/03, Male, Parson's/Jack Russell
Bailey Parson's Jack Russell DOB 06.03 Gatwick Kenns
Homing Requirements: Bailey needs terrier-savvy people who are sensitive to working with a nervous terrier, allowing the terrier to call the shots... then Bailey relaxes and enjoys. He needs stability and thrives on a routine where he is given lots of space. He is an ideal dog for someone working from home or a part-time worker. Bailey needs respect and careful management around visitors and strangers. He doesn't appreciate gushing people intent on stroking. Not for live-in children. Careful management around children and visitors will be necessary. Bailey's owners will need the means to provide for his future years, being an uninsured elderly dog. He needs only pet status or Bailey could live with a dog companion who can offer him space. The more space he has, the more relaxed Bailey is.
His Story: Bailey’s owner had dementia; Bailey was loved but lost all routine and didn't cope with changing carers. Bailey is now neutered, chipped, fully vax'd and has been given a clean bill of health. Bailey was in a multi-dog fosterer home in Tunbridge Wells, but is now in kennels near Gatwick.
Advert: Bailey is a lively character for his age. Bailey loves people but needs to build trust slowly or else he will growl and snap to control the interaction. Terrier people know how to allow a sensitive terrier to call the shots. Bailey builds trust and is a joy to have around, but yes, he is that slightly aloof terrier who is happy in his own company, your company or in the garden having found a patch of sunshine. Bailey needs respect, as terriers are independent 'people'. Bailey loves walks and his food. In busy areas we slip a muzzle on and he is fine - again this is to avoid gushing, well-meaning 'must stroke the pretty dog' people. Bailey travels well secured in the car.
Bailey is a tri-colour, wire-haired Parson's Jack Russell Terrier born in June 2003. No one would guess his age! There is plenty of fizz in Bailey: he is creamy too! Bailey was in a foster home for seven months, but the pressure of several foster dogs in the same home meant Bailey had to face the challenge of coping with an ever-changing multitude of dogs. He is now in kennels. Bailey would suit a terrier family who don't place too many demands on him. He loves a quieter household where he has time to think and ponder the meaning of life.
