Bridge to Terabithia

Strictly for the kids, IMO. Bought it cheap from a Kirkwall shop yesterday, when I was dragracing in my powerchair round the town.

It's not too soggy for adults, but the kid "stars" are too squeaky-clean-Hollywood-American to endear themselves to adult Brits.

This is a difficult film to review without "spoilers" creeping in, but, basically, two misfit kids become pals and invent a magic kingdom ("Terabithia"), where they escape from the school bullies and learn to stand up for themselves. Having said that, most of the action takes place in the here-and-now, and fails to captivate as a result. Personally, I think the most convincing member of the cast is the dog.

Ours loved it, a good family film for a spread of ages.

I enjoyed it but my boys found it a bit boring. I think they were expecting it to be more like The Chronicles of Narnia.
