Apple Jelly - anybody made it?

Clearing the little wood where I will be living in the new year, the builder has found some ancient apple trees which he reckons will come back if pruned properly. A work colleague said I would soon be a "proper Irish woman making apple jelly"
I like the sound of it but have never come across it - has anyone ever made it?

no. but you should make it and I will volunteer to try it and tell you if it tastes nice
