Daisy and her Thyroid (hypothyroidism)

Just got back from holiday yesterday and Daisy has her appointment for the vets this evening to have her blood test done to check to see if she has an under active thyroid. I really am convinced this is her problem. I have been reading on different websites that it can effect the skin as well as making her tired. I noticed she has a sore patch in her ear that she keeps scratching and a sore patch under her eye and her skin is very dry. Cant wait to get her sorted out now and back to normal. Will let you know how she gets on.

it does affect the skin, my old lad had it he lost alot of fur and had bald spots.
with the right meds they turn the dog around, its like a new leash of life and they have some energy again.
good luck and let us know!

Daisy had her blood test done last night, we went for the full blood test that checks everything, thyroid, kidneys, liver. We will know on Friday. She has a really bad ear infection at the moment which I supposse could all be connected. She is just sooo run down.

Well I am truly amazed the blood test results have come back normal, blood ,liver, kidneys everything shows a healthy dog. The only thing I can think of is that she has been run down and drepressed since I lost my other dog Barney in March and hasn`t been the same since he was PTS. Really dont know what to think.

It must be a shame in a way that there wasn't a health problem. At least then you could have solved the problem.
Poor Daisy. I can't offer any advice, but I hope she feels better soon.

Oh dear - sorry to hear the results were inconclusive. At least if you KNEW what was wrong, you could get it sorted. Hope all is well very soon for you and Daisy

I think that is good news at least there is nothing seriously wrong...can't remember what age Daisy is or what she eats ...perhaps a change of diet can help
