I was watching something last night and they were talking about Greenland huskies, are these a breed on their own or a different name for a breed? Not heard of them before

Greenland dogs are a very old breed, no link whatsoever to the Northern Inuit type dogs, Greenlands are a recognised breed of sled dog, very much still a working dog - rarely seen as a pet, indeed, I would nt wish to own one solely as a pet.

In the UK they used to be lumped as the same breed as Canadian Eskimo Dg and were split about ten years ago ...... There really is very minimal difference between the two breeds, and many will argue that they are the same breed.

I know a few from the working and show circuit - they aren't the dog for me, massive variety in looks and type, but as a general rule a good hard worker.
