Our First Time....

Today, for the first time, I managed to get through a whole walk (lead walk / train / beach / return trip) without Prince throwing a hissy fit.
I decided on Zero Tolerance and did lots of stern talkings-to before we actually left the house and it seemed to work.
(Prince is large loony Dobie X who has spent his first 18 months doing exactly what he wanted, interspersed with being in kennels and bouncing off walls. He`s been here 3 months and I have a lot more grey hair than I did previously. )
I now feel I deserve chocolate.

Please feel free to add your `Firsts`!

Well done! Just goes to show they are all different and some dogs do need a no-nonsense approach.

Well done Prince and you of course Claire!

I saw the cat retrieve a dummy I had placed somewhere high up for the first time the other week - I thought it was a fluke until he did it again today.. Does that count?

Ok so Sadie managed to sit and hold - I've never done much training with her, but today she sat and held a dumbell for a period of time, however she will take it to her bed and chew it instead of doing a retrieve

Benjie let me near his dinner for the first time without grumbling.

Louie - hmmm not done any firsts in a while..

Well done Prince

Mind you from that picture I just don't believe that he can be anything other than well behaved

Well done to both of you!

It's the seemingly small things which dont seem a big deal to other people which have the biggest impact.

ah... if only I weren`t teetotal and overweight.
I`ve settled for a nice cup of tea and a ginger biscuit.

Claire I have no doubt at all you will 'get there' with Prince with your attitude of 'let's be patient any good behaviour is a bonus' .
