Molly guards the home. Although she's only 10 months she looks the part when she charges at the garden fence with her hackles up and bellowing deep bark. She always trots back very proud of herself when she's scared off the intruders (the intruders are squirrels) . She always puts on the show when we have a human intruder (guest). but if they take one step towards her she runs back in the house. tail tucked between her legs and hides behind the sofa. She's a proper scaredy pants but if someone didn't know her I'm sure her 'show' would be enough to deter a genuine intruder.

ETA out and about she is a very well mannered, polite young lady and doesn't show any tendency to guard us (yet!)

Yes, but only when it's appropriate. He doesn't bark unnecessarily or growl at everybody when we are out. To most people he appears to be a big softie, but has and will react to people who have bad intentions or overstep the mark.

Not a guarding breed but my Basset wuffs at passers by when in the garden, she then gets "awwwwwed" as she is still very small. Small man syndrome

Not a guardian breed.........but I asked a friend to pop in and let the dogs out for a pee as we were out all day, she told me that the first time she called in she had to talk to Bruce for the best part of 5 mins before he allowed her to walk in the kitchen......and he knows her
