Do you have a certain type?

when falling for a dog, pedigree, cross breed whatever, do you have a certain type that takes your fancy?

for instance, i love all the squidgy face breeds my favourites, are boxers, bulldogs, frenchies and pugs... i also like persian cats

however there seems to be one exception to the rule, (other than the cresteds) is the great dane..

but do you have a certain type of look you go for over another?

I look for unexaggerated animals with nothing "fancy" about them.

Dont like squished face breeds, they do nothing for me! I do like something un common like the CC, although love Collie/GSD type breeds. I like a breed with a load of history that I can spend a life time researching and still never know everything

I am not keen on the big hairy ones (as much) I like the working type - its their heads/faces. Love them!

I love hairy dogs. My ideal dog would be a german shepherd but I didn't feel experienced enough to get one after reading the rescue pages about them

Dare I say, without getting shot down in flames, that I got Lana who's short haired only because there wasn't much choice Doesn't that sound terrible. There was only a very old collie and a huge greyhound and Lana. If there had been loads of dogs I probably wouldn't have looked twice at her so it must have been fate. I didn't really like the look of her at first, but I wanted a dog, and she needed a home. Now of course I think she's lovely.

I find the short hairs from Lana worse to deal with than the long 12" hair from my previous dog.

Anything big and fluffy for me Which is very strange because Molly is small and short haired. Once I'm out of uni I shall be getting Molly a nice big fluffy friend..
