First cold in two years

And boy it has knocked me sideways

I have had a sore throat, yesterday and today all I have done is sneeze, inbetween my nose running like a tap,it's bright red and sore
My ears hurt, splitting headache and my glands are up too.

My chest is starting to hurt like it's really tight,so I reckon I will have a chest infection,I usually do get one following on from a cold

Never mind lets get it out of the way before christmas,I am armed with vicks vapour rub, olbas oil, vaseline, lemsip cold and flu capsules max strength and a big box of tissues

Poor you Sal- sounds like proper man flu!!
It's been right through my lot (except for me) my poor hub has had it for a month now & can't shake it off. He finally went to the GP last week who gave him antibiotics & sent him straight to the hospital for an xray. I feel really bad for him but he's doing my head in after a month keeping me awake at night!
Step daughter' got so bad that she was referred to the throat specialist........ it's awful!!
I keep thinking it's some other nasty "animals name" flu that they are keeping quiet about to avoid mass panic like last year. Even people at work have been dropping like flies & the one thing they can't shake off is the cough.
I always say no self respecting germ will come near my lungs!!
I hope you feel better soon - just dose yourself up with anything you can & try & avoid temperature changes if you can (seems to make it worse)
I don't know if anti biotics really help, but if you think it's a chest infection, you should probably get yourself to the GP.
From Nurse Suzie x
