Is it just me ??

Is it just me or does everyone get this kind of mail daily ??

I keep getting emails telling me of these fantastic (too good to be true) offers of transferring money through someone else or being able to claim for money that doesn't exactly belong to anyone.

I know these are scam emails and I report every one of them, and have never replied to any of them, Ever !

However they are becoming more and more frequent to the point that my inbox is receiving like 5 - 10 a DAY

ALSO, I keep getting Legit looking ones from every UK Bank telling me to update my online account details or my account will be closed. Now these have the real Banks' Logos and everything on them, but I don't bank with ANY of them, so why they are being sent to me I don't know ! Does everyone get these too ?? and are they also scams ??

Today I also received, for the first time, 3 Emails from Paypal telling me to update my account details and providing a link to do so

Strange, as I don't even have a Paypal account It did ring alarm bells as the link went to an email address in Uganda.............again they have all been reported.

A warning to anyone, Call your Bank or Paypal before doing anything, and do not send your account details to ANY of them without calling first.

Nope it's not just you! Have you had the one from a lawyer offering to go halves with you if you pretend to be the next of kin on someone's estate!

Yep, I've had a few of those too :smt042 But it's getting ridiculous, I'm getting at least one of each on a daily basis, but the one from Paypal today (with the official Logo) was a new one on me, but they sent three of them !

How does it know what emails you want and which ones you don't ?? I get a lot of enquiries from strangers, so I don't want to block all unknown emails out !

Most of mine goes straight into the trash anyway but the odd one slips through but I do get them daily although the bank ones are a lot less at the moment but at one stage it was pretty relentless!

You have a friends and blacklist button.

When you open Mailwasher you are able to read the first 20 lines of the email so you are able to decide whether you want to except the email or not.

If you don't then you just click friend, if you don't want it you just click blacklist. Once that done you click process mail and then everything you have excepted get downloaded into your email program whether it be Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook.

The good thing about this program is that it remembers your instructions so if you except someone as a friend they will always be a friend until you tell it different.

I get ones like this -every day- usually 3-6 per day- but they only go to one particular email address. I set up another address for personal contacts and so far so spam/scams on that one.
