Ebay - finally got had by a fraudster

After reading a few ebay stories from DW, I was thinking I was fortunate not to have been hit by a fraudster from ebay (I do alot of ebay shopping!).

Well my time came last week and bought a pair of new Levis, they never arrived....the girl was very 'oh haven't they arrived, well that's very strange as I sent them at 1.08pm on Monday'. Very precise information don't you think?

Anyway I asked her to look into it for me, giving her the benefit of the doubt, and her account has since been suspended from ebay and I can no longer get hold of her.....No surprises there then

Some people.....let's hope she gets a good dose of karma.

Minky great line

I'm not surprised some of you aren't wanting to shop on ebay, it seems to be a more common problem which they are going to have to address pretty promptly.

I do hope she gets a bit of karma, I hate to see the baddies prosper!

I've only been had on there once and that was at xmas - I bought two horsey dvds for my daughter and her friend and they never arrived. I emailed them several times to let them know that I still hadn't received them, but got no response. When I put in a comlaint the people were no longer ebay members. I went through the complaints process and this week was invited by ebay to put in a claim to get my money back. However, when I read the small print I lose the first £15 in admin costs and as the two dvds only cost £15 plus postage it isn't worth me claiming.

It's happened to me too. I bought a watch for £95 and it never came. The little boot had done a runner with quite a few people's money by the look of her feedback. It took me about 9 months to get any money back through ebay - minus their £15 costs etc. I wanted to track the girl down, she wouldn't answer her phone to me grrrrrrrrr

Aw sorry to hear that MC. It doesn't cost anything to get a certificate of posting - she could have done that and proved her innocence. Do you think you'll still shop there? I've been really lucky so far ...

Same here. I'll bet it has put you off the idea of ever going there again! I can't remember how much BBC Watchdog said had been swindled through the use of Ebay, but it was a huge amount!
