Dogsey

I am married with 2 children. I have been around animals all my life. My Grandfather used to breed Wire Fox Terriers. He then had a pet shop. My sister and I used to spend our weekends "helping" in the shop and fussing all the dogs that came in. I think this is why I have no fear of dogs. I learned from an earlier age that the bigger the dog, the softer and soppier the dog! I used to have own the most wonderful Bernese Mountain Dog called Bronson. Unfortunately I lost him at the very earlier age of 5. My parents had his litter brother but sadly lost him in 2005 aged 8. I know have a lovely but neurotic rescue collie cross called Jazz. We have had her from about 5 months old - we were at least the 4th owners - although we suspect she was from a puppy farm and so we would have been the 5th. With so much change and upset in her short life, and we think some abuse, its no wonder she has had some problems. But we are now working through these and she is much more settled and happy. I would like to get involved with some local rescues. I have recently made some dog beds from old washable duvets and quilt covers for the charity my husbands cousin is involved in "Greyhound Gap". Their kennels are however a bit far afield to visit in a practical capacity. I am thinking of dog walking, making more beds and perhaps fostering (although hubby is taking a bit more convincing).
