Thank you Brandykins, it's always a joy to see your comments. I'll try but it's going to be very, very hard for me and him to get him to slow down. He's not used to being limited in mobility. Thank you LuckyStar, he'll be okay with time I'm sure.

So here he is this morning. Still favoring the leg, of course... but much, much better after only one day. Going to be hard to keep him off the leg, but I'm going to try really hard... leash in the yard is strange to him, but he did okay.

So well on his way to recovery . Thanks everyone for being supportive. Stupid lens cap...

Aw bless him. He seems to be moving a good bit better, MF, which is good. The meds are helping him.

More cuddles and kisses to him from me

Hugs to you xx

Thank you so much Brandykins, he is moving a lot better today. His leg had to have been really hurting him, but he was a true champion and wouldn't cry, whine, or flinch when anybody moved it.

I can see an improvement too.

For Dillon we put obstacles on the furniture until he was healed enough to get on and off without any worries. I think Rose suggested this method too. We did sped a lot of time on the floor as he kept giving us those big sad eyes I want a cuddle.

So I have to try and put boxes and whatnot on all our couches to deter him? What a hassle. My mother will not be happy about this, and neither will our cats! But if it will keep him from jumping so much, so be it.

Nigredo is not a cuddly dog, just an I-hate-laying-on-the-floor-so-much dog so think I can move a box and sit on the couch while he stays on the floor. Going to be very hard to keep him off my bed, as well.

He bolted down the stairs and darn near face planted at the bottom... so before going down the stairs, I'm making him hold a stay command and hooking his leash to slow him down a tad.

I had to do this today, Myra, when I left Loki in the living room. After so many fits, he's been a bit wobbly so I didn't want him crashing into things and getting hurt so everything had to be put up. It sure made the room look tidier though.

He's still wobbly and limpy... so I'll certainly block off his favorite spots, at least to keep him from jumping. It'll look absurd, but it'll help deter him from jumping all over the place and making his leg worse.
