Working Dogs group

The breeds which comprise the Working Group are those whose traditional role has been to assist man in various fields of endeavour. Their service to humans includes guarding and protecting people and property; transporting goods and aiding travel by hauling sleds and pulling carts; and labouring with tireless tenacity as search and rescue dogs.

Nearly all of the breeds in this Group are large, powerful animals and, without exception, they are brave, intelligent, alert, and possess strong personalities to match their physical hardiness.

By providing faithful companionship and functional reliability they have, throughout the centuries, proved to be invaluable assets in furthering man’s desire to ever move forward.
