Ruby Crooked-leg (Staffie)

Ruby Crooked-leg (Oldies Club, fostered Herts.)

Sweet Ruby is a lively 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl who is looking for a new home after being found as a stray. She is in an Oldies Club foster home in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Her foster mum has sent us this information about Ruby:

Ruby is a very loving little girl and friendly with everyone. Her tail is always wagging and she has a happy smile on her face. She has a good nature, always trying to do her best and anxious to please. She is very gentle and quiet - rarely barking, only when the door bell rings, and at the window cleaners!

Ruby loves to check everything out in the garden and noses in every nook and cranny in the house - it’s all so new to her as she seems to have had no previous home life.

She’s mad about her toys and loves to play, though she also likes to sneak onto the sofa and cuddle up. She can be left alone in the house for up to 4 hours.

Ruby is house trained and quick to learn her basic commands, but still needs some work on training as she gets distracted by anything exciting! She walks well on and off the lead.

She is wary of other dogs but not aggressive, and enjoys walking with any she gets to know. She has no experience of cats but she loves to chase squirrels. Ruby travels well in the car and is a favourite at the vets for being such a sweetheart.

Since arriving in Oldies Club care, Ruby has had a health check, been spayed, microchipped and flea- and worm-treated. She has had two mammary lumps removed and these were found to be benign. She has a slightly crooked front leg, but it has no impact on her energetic lifestyle - it’s hard to believe she’s around 10 years old!

Ruby now deserves a permanent retirement home and will make a wonderful pet for anyone who has some spare time to play with her and keep up her training. In return, they will get a devoted and loving companion, still anxious for love and attention, but oh so grateful to get it!

If you would like to find out more about Ruby, please refer to our Adoption Proceduresfor information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Telephone: 0844 586 8656

Ruby can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but please note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her
