Do they not use that machine that squashes the breast between plates??? Technical eh =)

My friend found a lump, went to Dr, he referred her straight away to a specialist but it was all ok.
Good luck. xx

It'll very likely be a harmless cyst. Please try not to worry. Even if it is what you are dreading, it's better to know now than to find out too late.

Hugs honey, I know how scary it is......

It called a mamogram......the bob in the plates thingy.
I have a lump..... I went to the drs they felt it, and said it was harmless, although it seems to get bigger before and during my cycle.
They called it a breast mouse...weird name. But nothing serious.
If they have a look and think it needs to be looked at in more detail they will arrange the mamogram, which isn't a painful process.
Good luck and try not to worry.

I found a lump once a few years ago and they did like an ultrasound on it, same sort of thing you have when you are pregnant, it turned out to be cysts.

No point saying dont worry coz its impossible not to but the test is nothing to fear.

Good luck, i hope it turns out to be nothing, keep us posted!!

I went for my routine 3 yearly boob scan a couple of years ago and they found something. I was absolutely terrified. I had to go back for a needle biopsy and it turned out to be calcification, phew.

So how do they treat that? Tablets to break it up?

The vast majority are cysts, but it's hard to say until they have seen it.

I was sent to the hospital once because I had lumps, but apparently I'm just lumpy!

It really, really isn't worth worrying about something that might be nothing, but we all know we would be feeling exactly the same.

Most lumps aren't serious but until you know for sure you wouldn't be human if you didn't feel a bit anxious.
The mamogram isn't anything to worry about. The bit I didn't like was standing on tip toe because I didn't seem tall enough to reach the machine properly
