Meg 5 Year Old Brindle Staffy Bitch Seeks Forever Home
We recently took on a Staffy bitch that was going to be tossed onto the streets on a sort of foster basis until she was ready to find a forever home.
Unfortunatly she has had numerous fall outs with our other dogs, some of which she just will not drop so we are having to find her a forever home before we really wanted to. We wanted to wait until she had been spayed as she's already been indiscriminantly bred from.
She will remain here until a good home is found for her but she is being seperated from certain other dogs so could really do with finding a forever home soon as soon as possible for her own sake.
She's a lovely girl, loves human attention and does get on very well with some dogs but not others. She loves my 6 month old Border Collie and they play happily all day without a problem. Generally her temprement is very good but it seems once she's had a fall out she can't let it drop, apparently a trait of the breed I've been informed.
She needs to go to a home with no other dogs and no cats.
We have successfully crate trained her and she's happy to spend a few hours on her own but isn't used to this on a regular basis. She's fully toilet trained and she's had no accidents while with us.
She is microchipped but still registered to her previous-previous owner, we have the chip number so that the new owner can make the changes.
While she's been with us she's had a general health check, had her nails clipped and been wormed and flea treated. She's up to date with her vaccinations but her card isn't up to date; we've spoke to the previous vets who confirmed she is up to date.
She knows basic commands; sit, stay, paw, down, away, come. Her manners are pretty good too; she'll wait for you to go through the door first and asks to get on furniture.
She can be a bit hand shy (moving away, not aggressive) so has obviously taken a beating in the past but has come out of it a very loving little girl just a bit precuatious at times.
She doesn't bark a great deal but when she does it seems to be for no real reason other than to get attention. She doesn't whine and doesn't chew. She's good in the car, walks to heel and has a reasonable recall.
She likes nothing more than a big cuddle and fuss and is quite happy to lay on the sofa with anyone who's willing; she isn't interested in toys but will fetch a stick when on a walk if she feels like it.
She has got a bald patch on each side between her ribs and hips but it seems to be starting to grow back now we've changed her diet or possibly as she gets over her phantom pregnancy.
She's desperatly looking for a forever home as she's been through so much, she ideally is looking for someone with plenty of free time to give her lots of attention, a home without dogs or cats is essential.
PLEASE NOTE: We were hoping to get her spayed but due to her being in the middle of a phantom pregnancy this has not been possible so I will expect to see proof that she has been done from the new owners within the next 6 months.
