Head collars

When we take Jake out with his he always ends up making noises like he is being strangled and froths at the mouth.
He has drool hanging from the collar and just looks awful.
Its not a new thing he has been wearing one for ages.
Does anyones elses dog end up like this.

Which Headcollar are you using?
I had this problem with the Gencon, she was literally throttling herself, but she is fine with the Dogmatic as it leads from under the nose.

I use a 'Halti' head collar for my 7 month old dalmatian Dana. She can be quite difficult during walking. However the Halti seems the most efective method of helping to stop pulling. Along with commands such as "heel".I tried using a harness but that didnt work.

The dogmatic is great - they have all different colours now too. The synthetic leather type is very comfy and soft but strong.

We have a gentle leader and a gencon and they are fine with both.

Is he just getting stressed about wearing the headcollar?
Maybe getting him to wear it around the house (supervised) and put it on when nice things happen like food time.
