Very pink rash? under dogs nose

this is weird

noticed what i can only describe as a rash on bruno's nose this morning.

picture isnt the best: basically the black bit under/on his nostrils is all pink like inflamed but not swollen.

any ideas what this could be / he doesnt seem ill, unhappy or anything and is eating normally but it looks really sore?

...Dani is it dry or weeping, does it feel hotter than the surrounding tissue? If if feels hot it may benefit from a cloth rung out in very cold water and gently held to the area ...poor old Bruno ..

Has he been sleeping by a radiator/hot pipe..

nope doesnt feel overly hot either, no he sleeps on our bed or on the sofa and we have underfloor heating. My hubby mentioned that he had been sniffing round the back of the garage door which is still unfinished and has some rockwool insulation sticking out so am thinking it could be that which has made it itchy and then he has rubbed it off something rough.
he doesnt seem at all bothered so will see what its like in the morning.

thanks for your ideas though will let you know what happens.

Could be a carpet burn !!!

MY boy used to rub his nose on the carpet and scoot along on his nose when he got excited, which created something that looks the same, so could be that he's scratching it or rubbing it on the carpet !
