Seagate 500mg External HD

Just got this out of the box and plugged it in, as per the extremely limited instructions.
It's now just sitting there, and I can't even see it via MyComputer.

Shouldn't it be copying stuff over?

HELP!

Mine comes up as an additional drive under my computer and also a little symbol appears on my bar at the bottom which you click when you want to unplug it safely!

Just been on Seagate's website and have managed to work out that it IS on my PC and according to IT it's working properly. I still can't see it as a drive, so have no idea if there's anything on it.
I'm b*ggered..........

OK try sending a picture over to it, it shouldn't automatically copy your hard drive. Click on a picture then click send to and see if it comes up on your list.

Photoshop (my version anyway) doesn't work like that. My option is to "attach to email".

However, I've tried it with a word document, and it doesn't come up on the list.....

Click on My Pictures (don't go into photoshop) then right click on a picture, you should get a list of options one of which should be send to then an arrow with a drop down menu and see if your seagate is listed under there. Mine is as a seagate!
