Dash Class - Irish Brace Poll

The time has come to choose your favourite

Irish Brace

Not an easy class
Finding un-lookalikes is much harder than it sounds so very well done everybody

:smt041 :smt041 :smt041

Places will be awarded from First to Sixth according to their number of votes and the First Placed dog will be among the finalists for Best In Show at the end of the year

In the event of a tie among the top six, there will be a fresh vote between those tied to determine their final placings

You can see all the `odd couples`
HERE

You can vote for your six favourite un-lookalikes
but entrants must not vote for their own dogs.

Please count carefully before submitting your votes

You have three days to get your votes in, please refer to the Poll above for the exact closing date and time

Good luck everyone

Hi Kruse

A Dash class is explained Here

The Dash classes which have been run so far have been

Dogsey Prom King & Queen

Best Celebrity Lookalike

and this one, the Irish Brace class

An Irish Brace is dogs which look the least alike
Quite a few real companion shows hold Irish Brace classes - they are often more difficult to find a good nothing-alike partner than a [ matching ] Pairs class

I called this type of class `Dash` because they generally involve contacting other members to pair up dogs - both parties must agree to a pairing being entered - or to search for lookalikes [ ie the celebrity class ] and these classes only run for three days with no advance notice so no one knows the requirements until the class appears, [ unlike all the other classes for which advance notice is given so people can plan pictures to take specifically for each class if they don`t have suitable pics already ], so its a mad `dash` to get entries in within the time limit

I`m not certain on the origin of the name Irish Brace for un-matched pairs - I suspect the origin might be considered not to be very `PC` however its what classes for pairs of dogs which don`t look alike have been called for many years in an absolutely good-natured way
