Love the agility shots - that was very good for her first time on the A-frame!

Our dogs are entered in the working group because what else should they be entered in?
Obviously the judge today and on many other occasions didn't think they were entered in the wrong class.

I think Utility or Pastoral (I get the two mixed up !!)...Pet !

They are not a working 'breed' dog, and neither were all the dogs used to create the NI !

What makes you think they should be in 'Working' ??

AV, or if you are putting them in a group I would guess Utility. Working dogs were bred to do a specific job, as were Pastoral - since the NI is a combination of several breeds from different groups, they do not belong to any of them (save possibly Utility).

Do the judges ask you what breed they actually are?

Abbey, regardless of what many Judges may personally think, if the show was held under KC rules, it should not have allowed NI into Working at all !

Was the show under KC rules ??

I think you may not have realised that we are in Ireland not the UK. The shows here that we attend are run under the Irish Shows Association rules and nothing to do with the KC.

I put these photos on as I am extremely proud of my girls and not to start an argument.

If you don't have anything nice to say then please say it somewhere else.

Considering it was Sachas first time doing the agility stuff she looked like she did excellent - well done with that and the placings!

Off topic** and you know what even though they wern't specifically breed for 1 particular type of work and regardless of any technicalities of what class they should be placed, in my opinion they would be more than capable to do many 'jobs' - just because people find it hard to catergorise them it doesn't mean they are made out of jelly lol I don't really give a rats ? about all the catergories and labelling so what if she was in working and WON lol if she was in Utility or even, dogs that are as useless as a choclate firegaurd because people don't know how to catergorise them - she would have still most likely won. (All said with a big grin )

This thread has been split from a companion show result thread.

Please do not go off-topic - just discuss the OP's question, when that is done just let the thread die.. cheers

Many N.I do work anyway, i suppose its what your definition of work is, we have some in search and rescue, mine personally work hard at being pains in the ass but thats another story lol, there isnt always a working class or a utility class here in ireland so we have been known to go in sporting, we always ask first anyhow and have had no complaints, maybe because all the folk who show here are out to enjoy themselves and not to be bitchy!
