Sciatica update. (not good)

Its been almost 2 months now, and having initial improvement and being able to cope ok, Friday night I took a bad turn, since then I have been on my back, literally! I cannot walk, stand for more than a minute or so or even sit in any way on a chair. I have the keyboard and screen on the floor! Doctor was going to refer me 2 weeks ago, but he was on holiday! Today, I have rang them for a referal letter to see a private consultant, I cannot go on like this much longer.

The dogs have been lovely, Tarn always stuck to me, never leaves me for a minute, the others their usual silly selves. Moose the Cat keeps bringing me his silver foil balls to throw, but the silly begger puts them by my feet! I havent been able to get to my feet since Friday night!!

Fortunately I have help with family and friends close by, so everything is getting done as it should.

Anyways, I thought Id update you.
Dawn.

OMG Dawn, I so feel for you. There is nothing like the pain of sciatica, or any back pain for that.
At least you have friends and family nearby.
Wishing you all the help you need a.s.a.p!

Oh Dawn, you poor thing. I can empathise. My last "episode" put me off work for seven weeks, and it was 15 before I started to get back to normal. Sorry if that's depressed you, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Hope you start to get some relief soon. Do you have mega painkillers?
*hugs*

Many thanks all, much appreciated.

Yes Vicki, I am still on 30/500mg C0-Codamol every 4-6hrs and 75mg Diclofenac twice a day. What concerns me is when I started on these tablets apart from first thing in the morning, they were great, I was ok in the day while taking them, but since Saturday, they arent touching the pain.
Dawn.

When Co-codamol failed with me, I got Tramadol. They're stronger, but send you to sleep - not a bad thing IMO.
I find generally Co-codamol work fine for general pain, but you need something stronger.

Sorry to hear that, Dawn. Sciatica can be nasty, I believe. Hope the specialist can offer some help.
