Brand new, Hello from Texas, USA

Hi...
I was the mom to a lovely red chow/shepherd mix named Daisy, may she rest in peace.
My husband and I will soon be heading for the Houston SPCA (humane society / shelter) for a new baby. Something on the smaller side, without excessive shedding.
Any ideas?
May you all have an awesome week!
Kay

Hi Kay and Welcome. I'm sure you will find the perfect pet for you at the SPCA. They always have a huge variety of dogs to choose from, unfortunatly. Good for you for adopting!

Love from a fellow Texan.

Good luck with your search.

I think poodles are supposed to be good for non-shedding? (just seen Janie has said same thing!)
Other than size and age, I always think its best not to narrow down the search to particular breeds when going to a general rescue...you will know when you find the right dog (or should I say when they pick you!).

Last time we went with the idea of a labrador (OH's favourite breed) but came back with another border collie

Do let us know how you get on
