What Do I Feed My Bulldog Pup

Hi, I Have Just Got A Male Bulldog Pup Who Is 9 Weeks Old, He Is On Beta Puppy/junior At The Moment, I Did Not Know If To Mix In Meat With The Dry Food As I Have With All My Other Dog But I Do Not Know About British Bulldogs As This Is My First Bulldog Pup. Any Thoughts Would Be Good.
Thanks

I would personally keep him on what his breeder has been feeding him for a while. It is really up to you on how you choose to feed your dog, be it tinned meat, dry kibble, raw etc. Your vet will be able to advise you on his diet when you go for his vaccinations.

Just remember that any changes that you make to his diet, to do them gradually over a period of weeks. Otherwise you risk upsetting his stomach.

Good luck

Vets rarely have specialist knowledge of specific breeds let alone their dietary requirements. It would be much better to speak with someone who does specialise, and if it isnt the breeder (which it really ought to be if the pup came from a reputable source), then approaching the breed club would be sensible.

I Have Spoke To The Breeder About It And She Has Said To It Is Up To Me What To Feed Him As He Is Not A Fussy Eater. I Just Thought The Beta Food On Its Own Can Not Be That Interesting For Him, Not Much Taste. If You Would Put Tinned Food In What Is The Best One To Use.
Thanks

If your pup is happy on it, leave him be...you really shouldnt need to add anything!
A complete food is called complete for a reason. If you start adding to it, you are skewing the balance of nutrients, which could be detrimental to your pups development.

Meg was fed Beta Puppy by her Breeder,
Tyler was on Burns Puppy Mini Bites,so we gradually weaned Meg over to Burns, they have both done extremely well on it.
They on on Adult now,we just change the flavour now and again.
It's up to you what you feed him on,but if your going to change do it gradually over about 10 days.

As thandi said, what you are feeding at the moment is a complete food so it contains all the essential nutrients etc so there is not really any need to add anything to it.

You say he is not a fussy eater so presumably he is quite happy on it? In which case I would leave him be and just change as need be with age etc.

If you do decide to change his food, find one that you are happy with and stick to it. Too much changing around may upset his digestive system and can sometimes cause a fussy eater. Again please remember that any changes you do make, do them gradually.

I have had my boy on Royal Canin Medium Junior for a while now, and he is doing really well on it. The only change I will make is change him onto the adult diet when he reaches a year old.

Have you tried to introduce him to minced raw red meat, chicken and fish?

Only do this little at a time in the beginning so as not to upset his stomach.

Don't add things to a complete it upsets the balance. If he's fine on his Beta puppy keep him on that.
