The chickens are here

not sure I can take any more excitement this week.

first I meet Darius :smt008

then my first foster cat comes to stay :smt049

then we get our chickens :smt026

we have 6 little girls. they all look nice & healthy & we will try & think of some names for them, problem is they're all identical

no,My husband collected them this morning, but with my busy day today at work am & fetching Jerry - I only just gone on the pc & with so many other things to post about I just remembered to post about them.

thats great news

we have 12 ex battery hens and although they all look alike they are so different if that makes sense lol
so you will get to know them
ours have become so friendly they follow us around the garden and ain,t scared at all of our dogs

You can keep them anywhere Kazz. I interviewed a lady recently (for a dog, not a chicken) but she had a chicken in her yard & she'd got the smallest back yard I've ever seen. The chicken was happy. I know quite a few people who live in built up areas with chickens. We live in Wall Heath, with neighbours both sides & lots of gardens backing onto us. We do have a big garden & have fenced off an area for them. I wouldn't have a cockeral though. now that would upset the neighbours.
Can't wait to get my first egg.

Hmm now that is interesting. How many chickens do you need to keep? I expect they need to be in a group(flock) so I imagine at least 2.

Ex Battery hens sound good Jackie I wonder where I could get those from?

i think she is doing another rescue really soon

our 12 have really come on well since we got them
