breeding

i jus have a question.
Why is it that vets promote breeding when u bring ur puppy to the vet? i have a female sbt and when she went for her first checkup they asked if i was gonna breed from her, and also alot of people have been told by vets that it is for the bitches well being to breed from her just once.
Does this mean that vets are uneducated about breeding and are telling Joe Bloggs to breed from his bitch even if he doesnt know the first thing about it. I personally think this is irresponsible advice because this is where ur backyard breeders come in and jus breed their bitch to their neighbours dog regardless of health issues and temprement.
does anyone else agree? Even my dad, who when i was little bred from our CKCS says u should breed at least once. I have never actually asked him if he knew exactly what he was doing

Our vets have always promoted neutering as the healthiest option, even with pedigree dogs they try to lead people in that direction.

My vet says the opposite and encourages you to have your bitch spayed if your not a breeder.

Maybe the vet thinks more puppies more people visiting the vets hense more money in their pockets.

Jen did he ask you just out of curiosity to see whether you should have her spayed?

My vet asked if we were gonna breed form Tam and if not were we gonna have her spayed?

Most vet's round here actually push for spaying if your not considering breeding from your dog/bitch.

even tho my vet has not said it best to breed at least once, i have heard numerous people state that their vets have told them that and thats why they want to breed.

Our vet says to let them have one season then spay but never allow them to have a litter unless you are a breeder.

thats good.

our first vet said wait one season b4 spaying, and the second one said spey at 5 months regardless. Ive decided to wait til she has one season as its so confusing and i consider the first vet to be more professional
