Could be any number of reasons,
She is in whelp
She does not consider it food,
She is worried about eating in front of the boss,
She is worried by the food bowl
She has soiled in the feeding room at some time
She is worried about where you put the bowl
You use a cleaning fluid that makes her think you have marked the room as yours.

Think the only thing is to see things from the dogs point of view and then try different things till you hit upon an answer.

She brings her food from the kitchen into the room where i am, almost like an offering. She was spay when she was 11months old and is now 2 1/2 years.

Could be she is bring it in to you to eat it herself because something is disturbing her in the kitchen, try feeding her in the sitting room or staying with her in the kitchen whilst she eats.

Syd expects me to hold his bone for him while he gnaws it, but that's because he used to wear an Elizabethan collar as a pup, and if he held a bone between his paws his mouth couldn't reach it
Maybe she likes company during dinner

Is she eating some of it then bringing the rest in? If so she might be trying to hide it - it's a natural instinct in some animals as they do it to help prevent other predators find them/their food. Might be an idea to help feed less but more often.

Hi Sunseeker what are you feeding ?
How does she manage to carry a meal in, is it just a mouthful or more ?
How many meals are you feeding?
Does this happen at every meal ?
When did this behaviour start?
Sorry about all the questions, we need to know more to get a picture and to help .

I feed her a complete dry food, Hill's Science Plan for large breeds. She eats in a morning and evening and has been doing this for about 6 months. She usually brings it from the kitchen to where ever i am sitting, sometimes she places it either at my feet in the middle of the room, play's with it or hides it in her bed. She is a very content dog and enjoys her food and there is no worry for her about her food be eaten by another dog.
