Do you think Dogweb is too polite?

I have been having a discussion on another (american) dog forum, as someone was going on about how bitchy the place is.

Well. It IS totally pathetic (I love it - rubber necking on arguments, correcting people when they are wrong, sticking up for the under dog!).

I said it IS possible to have a FRIENDLY forum (meaning like here).

Someone commented

"I think I know what forums you're referring to. I left them all because they were so politically correct it really made me want to puke, lol.

So frankly those places make me want to puke. I much prefer *****"

I personally DO NOT think places like that (places like here is what I meant) are AT ALL puke inducing.

I have had some serious conversations about serious stuff here, spoke my mind, and STILL felt it is friendly and welcoming.

We don't all agree, but we certainly get over it, and disagree in a nice manner.

I have learny MORE here than other places which are so called "freedom of speech" forums.

Can't keep everyone happy. I think it's better to have a friendly forum than one with bitchy and back biting - it gets kinda tiresome and irritating American's love a bit of OTT Tell him/her to go puke away - silly peeeeeep (oops was that bitchy? )

i odnt think this place is politically correct in the sense we cant have free speech.

i think the discussion threads show that.

i think we are all jsut mature enough to respect each others opinions, thats why i love this place

I don't think it's too polite

people can speak their mind and have different opinions, it's just not allowed to get out of control and turn into everyone just bitching and having personal arguments.

I think it's fine this way

It is easy to find the bitching type forum but one like this is very rare. Would sometimes like to speak my mind but I am learning to control myself

I do

But I am pride myself on not being personal or nasty or snide. I just state what I think in, I hope, a mature way

And I'm glad you do! I may have just retreated and cried!
For an American, I try to carry on somewhat civilized debate.
