Taking him out into town? How to make this a good experience for puppy?

As soon as I can I would like to take Dougal out into the town centre as we live 5 min walk away from it.

Can you give me any suggestions/tips on how to make this easier for both of us.

I would suggest that rather than walking him around in the town centre that you find a seat and just sit there with him for a while. Busy towns with lots of people and cars can be over-stimulating for a dog Just sit and watch the world go by and give him a chance to get used to the hustle and bustle. Reward him with praise and treats for sitting quietly with you and also for behaving well should people come up to talk to him. Once you have done this for several days then he will be more confident and should be calm when you are actually walking about in crowds of people

ETA - just noticed he hasn't had all of his vaccs yet. In that case keep him in your arms. Don't put him on the ground.
