Whats this???

Just noticed on the 'user accounts' an addition which i havent put there.

It says; ASP.NET Machine A

Where has this came from cause no one else has access to my laptop.I have downloaded software from Hewlett Packard for the printer and camera-is this connected and if so-can i safely delete it???

My normal user account just says 'Steve' and is still there.

and just noticed there is a 'guest account' which werent there either! Any ideas before i delete them cause they look scary!

oh dear...

did you read this bit?

Can I delete it?

You can remove this account, but it is vital if you do asp.net development work on your machine.
By removing the account you may find your ASP.net projects will no longer function correctly.

mmmmmm.....

This is from windows steve have you updated your windows lately? Cause it will come from that it's nothing to worry about. Most users will have it on thers it all depends on if you have your updates on automatic / express or to pick the updates how it got on your system.

If theres any hiccups,no doubt it will be updated at some point (fingers crossed though). :smt103

it puts the other user account on as part of the update thats all.

Auto updates i don't do it that way i pick the ones i want put it's good if you don't want to bother what your updateing with or to cause some updates have cause some problems in the pst take SP2 for instance that cost me a reformat. But no big problem it does a system good to start from scratch sometimes.

I think i know where that mystery user came from...

Yesterday,i installed the software for new printer/camera and the camera has something called 'HP instant share' which apparently allows the camera (once connected to laptop) to automatically send the images to peoples email addresses.

When the software was installing,i was just clicking yes to everything it asked so presume i gave it permission to open another user account?

Marie-any thoughts (other than im stoopid for not reading the small print...)

Steve I have a guest account in my user accounts on my laptop. I think its just a space in case you need to set up another user account, cos I haven't installed anything on my laptop yet
