.. some chap came to work last week and gave a lecture on 'Extra terrestrial life' I didn't get to go but when I asked those who did 'was it good and what was it about ' they said they did not know if it was good, it was about Mars and Custard

Yes-i think we are alone.If there was intelligent life out there-surely they would have tried to make contact with us by now.

In fact looks like you are getting quite a few more Brits over there Fred, two people we saw today said they were sending their furniture over tomorrow and going over there for the rest of their lives once their house had been sold - they were moving near Granada (don't know if I have spelt that right or not) There is also two different families off our road that have also emigrated to Spain - they have all had enough of the UK.
