Roxy, 5 year old female Rottie Cross – Blakeney, Gloucestershire



Roxy’s owner refused to go into hospital until a social worker promised that Roxy would not go into kennels or be put to sleep! He put her in private kennels, but could no longer afford it and she was lucky enough to find a foster place. Sadly her owner passed away, but she is safe in her foster home until we find her a forever home.

Roxy has indeed been a much loved dog and it shows! She is a very friendly dog and absolutely loves people and children. She is currently living in a foster home with 3 other dogs – a 13 year old Greyhound bitch, an 8 year old Greyhound boy and a 3 year old Shepherd cross. She sleeps downstairs with them and has her own cushion. She travels well in the car, is excellent to walk and has good recall. She is house trained, can be left without issue and is good with chickens and horses. She arrived in foster a little over weight, but they have been working on that and she is looking trimmer.



Her fosterer said that the “hardest thing sometimes is getting her to go out for a wee if she's curled up on the sofa” and that the “only thing that phases her is fireworks”. Other than that ... Roxy is the perfect companion and the “loveliest, nicest natured dog they have ever known”.

Roxy’s main aim in life is to find another lovely home where there is a sofa to lay on, a friend to rely on and a human to cuddle her.
