Stag bars v Fallow antlers

Anyone tried both and noticed a difference? I think stag bars are red deer (or possibly roe deer) antlers. Cain has vague interest in a new one but quickly loses interest. However he loves his fallow deer antler. He's having a good munch on it daily at the moment. I'm wondering if they taste better? Possibly are softer and therefore easier to chew? Shape is easier to hold and chew for a big dog? Cain always seemed to have trouble getting a good grip on even an XL stag bar.

Anyone tried both? Did your dog have a preference?

Where is the fallow deer tnatler from?

Have you tried a different distributer of antlers? I sell antlers, and get them from antlerdogchews.co.uk
They do even bigger ones than x-large

The fallow deer is from there

He loves it! Admittedly it's expensive. We were given it as a present but I might end up paying out to replace it, even at that price, as he loves it so much!

I have a fallow deer antler which I found on a walk, and thats exactly the reason i'm not sawing it into 3 and giving it the dogs!

I know it's expensive, luckily mine was free. I would never have tried it at that price as I would have expect him to ignore it. But that was kind of the point of this thread. Cain also lost interest in stag bars quickly, I didn't expect him to be bothered with the fallow antler but he absolutely LOVES it! I was wondering why?

Mine ignored their stagbars for ages when we first got them. I soaked them overnight in Marmite diluted water and now they love them. As they are small dogs they get on better with the antlerdogchew puppy antlers which are sawn in half, they still chomp the stagbars too.

I just got two from the same site last week ( missed the Scone Game Fair where I normally get whole antlers ) Daisy hasn't been that interested in the Fallow antler and has mainly chosen the Red Deer one.

My chis have the extra large ones! lol
they love carrying them about!

Maybe you should email them and ask if the fallow ones are more popular, or why they would taste better for the dogs?
