Raw Dogs Food Variety Feeding

Im very new to raw feeding, and have always understood that you have to change over dog food slowly, over a week or two.

I am just starting my dog Toby onto raw, and have read that different meats should be fed, and some firms offer variety packs. How can you keep feeding different meats without upsetting the dogs digestion?

Anyone buy from this firm?

Ive just ordered some of their products-seems good stuff.

It is an old wives tale that dogs must eat the same food day in and day out otherwise they will get an upset stomach, they were born to hunt and scavenge whatever was around.

I do not really buy commercially prepared products much.

If the dog has been on a low protein diet previously will this not potentially lead to upset tummies?

dogs who have only been on the same food day in day out can get upset tummies when swapping food - and I did find my dogs took a wee while before they could fully digest bone without upchucking it and re-eating

I have found dogs who hve been on a varity of food can cope with whatever you give them pretty much

I hear chicken is an easy one to get the dogs onto raw I guess white meat is easier to digest.

If you plan to feed bones be sure to supervise and make sure they are raw as cooked bones are dangerous.

You can get bones for next to nothing in relatively large supply from your local bucther which will be cheaper then buying them from your pet store or the pet section of your local supermarket.

I am sure others can offer you far better advice then mine :>

Not sure what low protein would have to do with anything? How much protein do you think there is in a raw diet?
