Asher, Staffie, DOB 02.02 – Gatwick, Surrey

Asher, Staffie, DOB 02.02 – Gatwick, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Asher needs a stable family home to call his own. He welcomes children in his life and generally meets dogs well on his walks. He is not for cats and needs an only pet status. Asher enjoys good health, but may be difficult to insure so resources be available should he need them in the future.

His Story: Homed via Battersea as a 9 month old Staffie; his owners needed to pass him to their parents due to work commitments. Asher lived with a middle aged couple providing him with a comfortable lifestyle inclusive of daily long walks. The daughter then needed to attend a full time study course & placed their young child with parents. The mother was unhappy to have Asher around a crawling baby all week so they sort to find him a rescue place. We homed Asher a year ago with a young couple who due to radical changes in circumstance have needed to return Asher into our care. He is neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert: Asher enjoys stunning looks and health at 9 years old and has a really calm energy. He is friendly with people and children and doesn't jump up. A kind dog who has been around children of all ages and welcomes visitors. Asher travels well in the car and walks wonderfully on a lead. He doesn't like fireworks. Has always mixes with all ages of their grandchildren. He is used to being left during the day with lunchtime walks and to be kennels for holidays. Currently in boarding kennels near Gatwick.

Asher has a lovely gentle vibe, has been a model dog with people and children including toddlers. Yes say it again an exceptionally lovely, kind dog who needs a retirement home in words; but he certainly isn't ready for retirement! Not a dog to be off the lead; just happy to walk beside you passing the time, a lovely easy walker. Loves to sun bath. Easy to manage and is part of his human pack. Asher will generate a lot of interest just because he is Asher!

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.

An update from Lynne who took Asher to the vets:

“Met Asher yesterday up close and comfortable! We had a lovely walk around the woods, then he accompanied me in the front passenger seat for an hours journey to the vets with a van load of dogs in crates in the back. He is such a calm dog. NOBLE! I so enjoyed his love and his kisses. He sat calmly looking at the traffic then decided there was possible food in the footwell. He was excellent in the vets when he had his booster. Settled down on the way back. Oh he will make a perfect companion for someone. He is lively on his walks plenty of fun and life in Asher ... perfectimo

Such a gentleman …

Asher is currently in boarding kennels and would really love a break and some TLC in a foster home. If you think you could foster Asher then please complete our Fostering questionnaire online.

Look into my big brown eyes ....

Here I am, I'm handsome, I'm wearing the collar and harness advertising my needs ....what more can I do to show what a wonderful companion I could be?

The lovely Asher.... perfectly named like the type of diamond he is... there must be a sofa with Asher's name on it somewhere out there...??

Asher enjoyed exploring a new longer walk with Nellie & Cassie [other RR rescue dogs]

Asher should not be in kennels. He is a lovely boy. Older and dignified. He needs his retirement plan in place now and his fire and comfy bed to have a snooze in the evening, but someone who will still take him for his walks in the day, he isnt ready to retire!
