Kennel cough advice

Ok so Hades (rottie puppy) started coughing a couple of weeks ago and the vet gave him some antibiotics for kennel cough. He didnt have a temperature and vet said that it looked like I caught it early.

The antibiotics were only a weeks prescription, and he was still coughing at the end of it. So i took him back to vet and he was given another course of antibiotics, and he has a slight temperature now.

Im now at the end of the 2nd prescription and he is still coughing. Not as much as before, but its still there.

I will call the vets on Monday to get him checked, but is it normal to have to get so many courses of antibiotics?
