Going to see some Cobs!!

Went to visit a breeder a month or so ago to see their cobs..and out of 44 odd horses, there were TWO that grabbed me..(not literally of course)..A wee filly..that they are keeping and a wee colt..that was already sold..some of the others I didn't even look at as they were sold or being kept..

Have been chatting with the breeders on [a social network] about another guy they had for sale..turns out he was sold but they changed their mind and bought a mare instead..

Anyway..rambling...WHilst speaking to her I told her I wanted the biggest chunkiest cob I could find..

And she mentioned 2 boys that she has..half brothers, the younger one is for sale..but the older one she wanted to keep and every time someone asked about him she got cold feet and said he wasn't for sale..

BUT she has said if I want him I can have him as she knows he will have a good home and be loved etc..
SO we are going to visit both the 2 & 3yr old on Thursday night..neither of them GRAB me in the way the colt & filly did but they are both exactly what I want in the terms of temprement, build etc..

The 2yr old is standing 14.2 at the moment and built like a tank, the 3yr old is standing 15.2 at the moment and built like a bigger tank..

Okay none horsey person here...although I can tell difference between shire and shetland.....what is a Cob? a specific breed? I vaguely think its a cob who carries the drums in army bands......have you got pictures or will you have pictures...

How exciting! Would you PM me the breeder details please Louise? Cobs are of interest to me at the mo - but am really looking for an older horse who has been there, seen it, done it etc.

I can't wait to hear how you get on. Fingers crossed!

Kirsty they don't really do older horses as the younger ones are sold as yearlings to make way for the next years babies..due any time..Will sort out details for you though if you want..

Kazz, the word Cob describes a body type more than a breed..If we were talking doggy world..a cob would be a staffy LOL..Shortish and very stocky..
Gypsy cobs are usually like smaller versions of clydesdales..lots of mane, tail and feather..

This is the two yr old

And the 3yr old
