How much do you pay for rabies vaccine?

Fluffy is due for another rabies vaccine and I have a slight suspicion that my vet is on expensive side - I paid around £60 last year. His boosters are also due soon and as it all adds up. I am in London but the prices wary even here.... but does that sound about right?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it!

In rural France we have just paid 41 euros for the Rabies and annual boosters but we did get a substantial further discount as we took 2 dogs (total 65 euro for the pair). Thank goodness something seems cheaper here.

Wow that was cheap! I'd be lucky if that was the price for one dog only!

We recently visited the vets to get the blood samples done for rabies test.

We have two dogs so they got:-
2 x blood samples for analysis
2 x booster rabies
2 x 4 other boosters (Effectively everything )
1 x kennel cough (Since Rianna had never been done)
2 x temperature and general check over

At current exchange rate that added up to £45.22 per dog

I thought that was pretty much OK

When we were thinking of taking Flint to Canada we got him a rabies vaccine costing £27.75.

You only need to re-vaccinate every 2-3 years [depending on the shot] as long as the blood sample after the 1st vaccine was clear.
If you re-vaccinate at the correct intervals you wont need to have another blood test taken.
You will have to be aware of the 6 month rule if leaving the UK.
You can take the dog out of the UK but you cant bring him back in unless there has been a gap of at least 6months from when the passport/certificate was signed stating he is rabies free with a clear blood test.

Hope that helps xx

Did you complete his Pet Passport blood test etc ? If you did you will only need a booster on the date in his Pet Passport. If you had him vax in 2009 the he won't need vaxing again for either two or three years from the first date, depending on the vax used

I paid around £30 for Rjjs.

You only have to wait 6 months after the date the bloods were taken if you want to bring a dog into the UK, you only need to have the vaccinations done that the country you are going to require & a completed Pet Passport document if you are taking a dog abroad.
