Vets in Middlesex and annual boosters

Hi all,

I'm very confused and I hope you can help! Moon went into quarantine in October last year and had a number of vaccinations on arrival in the UK. Unfortunately I'm not sure of what he had as his vaccination booklet is some awful vietnamese one that makes no sense and the vets writing is just scrawl!

However i'm pretty sure he's due for some boosters. What do dogs in the UK need annual boosters for? How much do they cost?

I would ask the vet for advice, but we haven't registered him yet as I have not been impressed with the few vets in the area that I have taken my rats too, they all seem to change staff frequently and I want a vet who can build a relationship with my dog. So on that note, can anyone recommend a vet in Middlesex? Must be within reach via bus of Isleworth so Richmond/Hounslow/Whitton etc is ok.

Please help!

You could have him titre tested & then decide if he needs vaccinating

You might call around and see if any are friendly about doing titers. I am not a fanatic on the subject, but I think the science is on the side of fewer shots and more titers. If none of them want to do titers, it may not be worth the fight.

Thank you so much for the recommendation of a vets, I will definately check them out! I always find the best way to get a vet is via word of mouth.

I'll look into titres but I'm inclined to just get his annual boosters this year and then think about what we might do in the future from there as it's something I think I'd need to research well before thinking about not vaccinating regularly... Don't know much on the topic!

Also is it advised that dogs have an annual health check with a vet?

Sorry for all the questions, he's my first dog

I'd recommend annual vet checks even if you decide not to have boosters for your pets.
