Dog Holiday Suggestions...

Where are the best places to go for a dog cottage holiday?

Am looking for somewhere to have quiet, peopleless romps around with nice scenery if possible! Ideally not stretching further north than manchester, somewhere within 3 hours of manchester and london would be ideal.

Suggestions greatly appreciated. If you've been away with your dogs then pics very welcome too

How about staying in a forest/woodland?

I don't know about the geography of things so won't be able to help you out there. I know a member on another forum staying somewhere in Sherwood Forest with her dog and loved it.

We had a fab week away in Conwy before Easter. Gorgeous little cottage, miles and miles of beach and stunning countryside. Anglesey is only a short drive away from there too with lots of beautiful walking.

Maybe not as far as you'd like to get away this time, but handy for you if you ever want a short break closer to home. I can did out the holiday cottage details for you if you like?

What about the Lake District? Dogs are welcomed here: http://www.bedandbreakfastlakedistrict.com

Haven't been yet ourselves, but if we finally get things together enough so we can have a weekend break, it's where we will be going.

Alternatively, collect together some like-minded friends and hire a narrow boat for a week. Many of the companies that do these holidays are fine with dogs on the boats.

Oops, I missed that too.

Notice MM mentioned Coventry - I can't think of anywhere that I know is dog friendly to stay off the top of my head, but it's a fantastic place.
