425 Irish dogs helped break a Guinness World Record

IT HAS BEEN announced today that hundreds of Irish dogs have helped break a Guinness World Record.

The event took place at the DSPCA’s Great Irish Dog Walk in the Phoenix Park in Dublin last Saturday and involved 425 dogs being trained to sit, give the paw, lie down and target touch at the same time.

This beats the previous record of 390 dogs set in Madrid two years ago.

“It was a fantastic achievement, at one point we had 425 dogs, not one barking!” commented head of dog training Alex Petrilli. “Bigger countries have been able to do it but for a small country like Ireland to be top shows us to be a nation of animal lovers. We are so thankful to everyone who helped make it possible.”

Somehow I do not think my dog would be so obedient in such a crowd, so well done to all the dogs who are obviously better behaved than mine!

[and their owners, of course!]
