Live for today :(

I have just heard that a colleague from when I was working died last night.
Not sure how old he was, maybe late 50s early 60s. I have never met a man so against smoking, he was veggie, only organic veggies at that, played tennis, went to the gym. A month or so ago he was unwell, saw the doctor (he was one himself) had a scan and he was riddled with cancer
I feel so sad, such a nice gentleman.

I hate cancer....

Gosh, what a shock! He obviously looked after himself. That bladdy awful disease. I have had it three times. I keep saying that it may be out to get me, but it won't beat me!

Poor you Debs, I have been there once and that was enough. It's the psychological effects isn't it?

Jenny, you are dead right! Your title is exactly it - I really do live for today.

My outlook is that there is too much animosity in this world, and each day must be enjoyed and treasured. I know that I sound a little (what's the word that I'm looking for?) , but families and friends are there to be treasured. x

We never know what's around the corner.

I truly believe that when it's your time, there's nothing you can do to prevent it......

How sad. Poor man.

Cancer is such an awful thing whether it be in a person or in an animal. It's horrible.

Very sorry to hear it Jenny.

So sorry to hear about him, cancer sometimes just doesn't care who it goes for. Someone who is unhealthy in their habits their whole life can escape, whereas someone like him who takes care of themselves can be taken. The disease is horrible. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

That is so tragic, and cancer seems to respect no-one....I had a friend who never smoked or drank, and who walked for miles every day etc. etc., but she died after a long painful battle with bone cancer.

Sometimes we all need a prod when we take life for granted.
