we are the same, all we buy is the tripe and fruit/veg when on offer.
we get all our meat/bones and fish free
cost us alot more when we was feeding kibble

I buy most stuff from the wholesalers, so my three cost me..

Food - £252.00 per year
Insurance - £324.00
Garlic tablets (flea prevention)- £48.00
collars and leads- £35.00
toys- £30.00
training classes- £480

Total £1169

don't use wormers or have boosters.

On the other hand, I probably spend about £2000-£3000 on showing. Eek!

Let's see:

Food: $565
Vet bills: $150 for standard stuff + this year we spent an extra $280 for things other than vaccinations
Flea/tick + heartworm meds: $270
Training: $150
Toys & treats: $200

Total: $1615 (£1096)

And that's for just one dog. Ouch! She's well worth it though!

Didn't even think about how much the cats cost as they are older; not insured and have tinned food which works out much dearer than the dogs' dried food.

As previously said, it doesn't matter how much they cost because they are worth it tenfold and if we didn't have the dogs (and cats) we would spend it on something else.

Well I do have three big 'uns...

Food and treats £1500 per year approx
Insurance £720 per year approx
Collars and leads £ 90 per year approx
Flea prevention £40 per year approx
wormers £60 per year approx
Vaccinations £130 per year approx
Toys/Training Classes/bowls £100 + approx

That comes to a whopping £2,640 and does not include Codee's spay, or Deacon's immunotherapy/skin & ear treatments as none of that is included in his insurance and he has cost me £8-900+ so far this year for that alone!!

Good job I love them!! Still I don't have kids to spoil

ummm never thought about this before (maybe I shouldn't) but here goes....

Cost for Monty for a year!!
Food - appx £240
Treats etc - £150-£160
Toys etc - appx £100-£150 (he is a bit spoilt )
Flea & Worm treatment - appx £130
Daycare - £624 (totally worth it though)

Total of appx £1254

On top of that I have an overweight cat (she is on special food) who prob costs around £300 a year for food (hope she loses weight soon ) then obviously her flea and worm treatment, then I have a tortoise and a Bearded Dragon, they have to have new UV bulbs every year which are £20-£30 each! They have about £150 spent on food each year between them! And any vets bills are expensive for them! I also have a fish - he doesn't cost much though -thankfully! hehe!

I honestly wouldn't care how much they cost though - they are totally worth every penny as they all make me happy every day!

My dogs cost me as much as I can afford.
A lot less than children. Or drinking, smoking and toyboys (I expect).
