All pretty good news so far.

My vet is pretty sure that he doesn't have an obstruction although he's not ruling out a partial obstruction completely. The fact that he's pooing normally is a good thing, so there is stuff getting through.

As it does seem to be the wood that's causing the problem, he reckons that it's probably floating on the top of the stomach contents and that's what's causing him to be sick.

So, I've been sent home with some liquid parrafin to see if that will shift what may or may not be a partial obstruction and we'll see how he goes on today.

His temperature was fine and he had no discomfort when palpating his stomach.

We've arranged to speak tomorrow and give an update of how he is.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Phew, I hope the paraffin does the job.

It's always worth that vet trip with something like this. Better to be safe than sorry.

Fingers are crossed that he has a good "clear-out" and that there is not even a partial obstruction. xx

Today I have a crazy dog - full of life who has kept down 2 full meals laced with liquid paraffin and pooing nicely.

I think the HUGE pile of vomit yesterday morning may well have shifted whatever it was.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well today with him.

Thank you again for all your kind thoughts and good advice. I've realised that my life as a dog owner would have been much more fraught if it hadn't have been for this forum
