You can feed fish every day if you wish.

Pilchards, Sardines and Mackeral are the best of Omega 3 content, Tuna is not so good.

You can feed in oil, tomato sauce and some come in spring water.

I prefer not to give those in Sunflower oil as this is high in Omega 6, which is INflammatory unlike Omega 3 and most dogs diets have more if not too much Omega 6 in their diet (especially grain fed dogs).

Also not much point in paying for something you are going to drain off!

You can feed them raw too (however take care, many dogs like to reacquaint themselves with raw fish the first time they consume it, usually hours afterwards in some convenient spot like your car or the living room rug)!

dont know about fish but when we have to give tablets at work we make little meatballs with chappie and the tablets are in there - i wear gloves while making these meatballs. Dont do it for phoebe though i just drop tabs in with her dry food and she eats them even big bright pink antibiotics. She will find wormers and chuck them out though have to force feed the wormer as she alwasy finds it no matter what i try

On the subject of wormers, I have to give Pereg 2˝ tabs of Drontal on 9 October. I do not want to have to force-feed them to her as I have had to in the past, as I dare not risk putting her off her regular medication. I will see what paté I can get so if she does not take them in the cheese then I will try in the paté.

That's cos you are trained & know how to do it properly & don't feel guilt afterwards nor do you get covered in copious Boxer slobber

Better to drain it off than have the dog take colitis through intake of, what is to their system, too much oil

Better be safe than sorry

I. tend to buy the Tom sauce version and that in it self is interesting in a White dog

Fortunately none of my dogs have suffered from colitis as they burn up all their oil!

It is their major energy source (as it is for all dogs).
