Can I also ask, why you felt you had to go and sit away from everyone else?

Well lets hope we don't cross your path! That sort of attitude gives dog owners a bad name. Sounds to me that there is more than one 'stupid dog owner' involved...

Id just like to ask why you are going to these classes if you dont want other dogs near her?

My Minnie is also wary of other dogs and thats one of the reasons why im taking her to the training classes. As long as there is supervision ill let her approach other dogs and am happy for them to approach her. This is the only way she will learn doggie manners.

I know you are protective over your dog but you need to help her in the best way possible as she will turn out to be a dangerous dog and you dont want to have to have her PTS. I know it sounds drastic but thats how you need to see the situation. Good luck in the future!

that is why you are at classes...to LEARN that yes it is ok and to get your dog to STOP this behaviour. Of course it should be safe for dogs to come running up if they are coming to say hello and be friendly, that is what socialisation is....try it sometime.
There are some people who don't have a clue about dogs, but people are happy enough to get their money so let them take on a poor innocent dog, months later they beg trainers to help sort out the mess they have made of the animal or worse pass them on to other clueless wonders and they eventuly end up homeless or pts!
Puppy socialising classes are there to prevent this happening, use them.

No pet my dogs would not fight back, they would just have thrown your dog off with a flex of their muscles.
What annoyed everyone was your attitude, you have to understand that you have the problem dog not the lab owner and to call her stupid was not very nice.

Suze, stop being so dramatic. It's your attitude that I cannot abide in some dog owners.

Obviously, you and your dog are going to come across dogs and owners every day on walks, that is inevitable, it's up to you to teach your dog the correct way to behave around them, and your dog having a go at other dogs is not acceptable, whether or not the other dogs come up to her or not.

You have to teach your dog how to deal with certain situations she will come across in her life, such as the one you mentioned in your first post on this topic.

Dog are sociable creatures and should be able to mix with other dogs without it turning into a rabble.

I'm thinking whether you should really own a dog, to be honest.

Dog owners have to do what's best for their dogs, and allowing them to behave anti-socially is letting the dog down and depriving it of a well adjusted, happy life that it deserves.

This is not a personal attack, just some personal advice. I suggest you read over our comments and think about them.

Can I ask how old Millie is, please?

First can I say we are not talking about a dog bounding up to your dogs face, that was not what happend so the above post is un-related, but I still feel your attitude is wrong, (whats the saying dogs are like there owners) lighten up a bit, stop treating the rest of the dogs in your path as savage, ignorant animals, I own rotts and if a dog ran up to them I would expect them to do nothing, more so if it came up with a good attitude, I would be livid if one of my lot realy went for it when a dog was just being friendly,

back to the point in hand, all the lab did was sniff and you think it's fine for your dog to react in the manner it did, R U SERIOUS !!!!
what kind of class is it your attending?

He is there to learn mabey you being the superior knowlage on whats ok and whats not should educate these less fortunate people,
oh and you could drop the supercilious attitude too!
