Barney 1 year passed

I imagine nobody on Dogsey could ever imagine it was 1 year on that we lost our dear old Barney for those who have seen me through the loss of my best friend.

You wont of forgotten the picnic we did at Easter 2006 1 week before we knew we would say goodbye after the cancer had taken hold...................

He was a tired boy by this time, he still loved being close to us all.
His last lie in. This picture pains me so much as he was so comfy even in his own discomfort of being riddled with cancer.
Call us sentimental but all the the other pets held a vigil while we prepared his final resting place.
Now the sun sets every evening on Barney's Balcony. A celebration of life not the end.
Remembering my loving loyal wise old Barney is painful to see these pictures again even after a whole big fat year. He was my best friend and I still miss him like he died yesterday.
He still lays with me every night Im sure. Night Barney sleep tight my lovely best friend.

Luz, I am sorry I can not really say anything that will make things easier, I do think he is still there with you at night and on every walk you go on. All I will is its hard but try and keep your chin up.

So sorry about your loss of Barney. They are such loving pictures. I lost my GSD a few months ago and he was my best friend, I know he is still with me. Your pictures have brought tears to my eyes. They are both running free now and out of pain. God bless them.

Both your words brought tears to my & Janet (Toby)'s eyes.

Our dogs are always our best friends I wish sometimes for just one more minute with my Barney.

Oh Laura, what a lovely tribute to the old boy. Can't believe it was a year ago already.
Take care and remember him with love. xx

So sorry,

For you......

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
