Eight Below - Brilliant Doggie Film

Watched this last week, rated PG. It is absolutely brilliant film (sad in parts) but totally bum glued to the sofa stuff.

It is set in the Antartic and about a pack of sled dogs who have to get left behind at the base to fend for themselves until help arrives back for them. I won't spoil the story, it is truly amazing and apparantly based on True Story.

Rent it out, you won't regret it! (you will need a hankie but don't let it put you off please, you'll be missing a real treat)

It has some sad moments but it is a very inspiring and uplifting story. The kind that makes you happy you watched it put it that way!

Sounds like my kind of film Thanks for posting about it, I will rent it now.

I remember Call of the Wild, Phil. There are two versions now - one old one with Charlton Heston and the other with Ethan Hawke ... both worth watching.

Yes - Just been onto IMDB - It was the Charlton Heston one 1972.

Read the blurb and it all came back to me.

Found this when looking it up.

Oops just realised that the Ethan Hawke film was "White Fang" and not Call of the Wild. White Fang was also written by Jack London.

I've not seen it. Might wait and watch it with my Daughter although she's not very good at films that are sad.
