Dog mating any advice please? (merged)

Hi
Tried to mate my Staffy today (all papers in check) they played in the garden for 4 hours the dog kept mounting her and she liked to display her bits to him but no tie occured? running out of time know for this season any tips??

Other than Vaseline and force which seems to be the favourite amongst a lot of breeders, can't help you mate - sorry

Hi
tried to mate my dog today they were in the garden for 4 hours she was ready for him but he was going every where but the right place, is this normal I thought it would be quick and they both tie, we are going back to the stud on saturday any advice please

Are they both your dogs? Is it first time for both?

Normally the stud dog owner 'helps' the dog out if the positioning isn't right, I'm afraid it's not as easy as some people think

I am the owner of the girl and it it her first time she is three, the stud is experienced and never gave up bless him, he was mounting her but no tie.... may be it was just not meant to be.

i would say if the stud owner isnt helping, wait until next season and try a better stud owner

I have a friend who used to breed, a lot of the time the stud owner has to encourage his boy to do the business.....
